The funicular track is unique but split in the middle of the route to allow the crossing of the two wagons. The funicular to the cave is historic: the first of its kind in Europe built between 1930 and 1931. Of course, it has been modernized several times, but always respecting the original choices. It saves you 300 steps to go! If you wish (but it is of course optional) you can walk down to them on your return from the visit. The guide will certainly suggest it to you. At the upper station, an informative panel will detail the characteristics of this historic funicular, and you can even admire its mechanism through its glass cabin.
